What's important to you?
I deeply care about the field of behavior analysis and the people in the field. I strongly believe that our science can make meaningful changes in many capacities, but in order to do so students who are seeking their certification need the right support. I was lucky to have great mentors along my journey but I recognize that there are so many students who may not have a mentor. I want to be the person that creates the best environment for students so that they can learn how to utilize the science of behavior for meaningful change in the world.
What makes you unique?
I am a first generation student and professor.
I am Black & Latina and proud of my heritage.
I use a culturally responsive approach to learning environments.
I show up as my authentic self and create environments where everyone else around me can do the same.
I am not afraid to make mistakes. In fact, I encourage them from my students because it means they are pushing themselves.
I am confident in my teaching skills and can make it feel easy and fun to learn.
